I would give a rating out of 10 according to student quality, faculty quality, job scenario & national/insternational rankings (I won't take campus size or existence into consideration)
- IIT Kgp - 10
- IIEST Shibpur - 9.5
- NIT Dgp - 9
- FET JU - 9
- FET CU - 8.5
- IIIT Kalyani - 8
- KGEC - 7.5
- JGEC - 7
- MAKAUT - 7
- GCELT - 7
If private colleges were taken into consideration I would have ranked IEM in no.6 spot before IIIT Kalyani and would have gave it a score of 8. Apart from IEM I believe no private college is worth mentioning in top 10.
Let's not consider JU, IIEST, NIT Dgp & IIT KGP..
Now since Calcutta University is a part of WBJEE so. I will put it in the first position
Then in WBUT Colleges
IEM
Heritage
KGEC
JGEC
TISL
WBUT in house
Meghnad Saha
Netaji Subhash
AOT
RCC
Apart from this there are one college I don't have much idea presently i.e., IIIT Kalyani as it is started recently..but it is expected to be top college of not only Bengal but whole India..
Kalyani University (not KGEC) & Burdwan University have engineering depts but facilities are not so good .
IIT Kharagpur - Indian Institute of Technology
IIEST Shibpur - Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology
NIT Durgapur - National Institute of Technology
Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, Kolkata
Aliah University, Kolkata
GCECT Kolkata - Government College of Engineering and Ceramic Technology
Government College of Engineering and Leather Technology, Kolkata
Raja Bazar Science College, University of Calcutta, Kolkata
Behala Government Polytechnic, Kolkata
UIT Burdwan - University Institute of Technology The University of Burdwan
Hooghly Institute of Technology
At the end of the blog
I would most recommend as one of the best engineering college as JADAVPUR UNIVERSITY.
According to college reports this year placement percentage is 84 %.
More than 9 student got highest package from this college.
3 students got placed in Facebook, Google and Amazon with worth package 📦 of more than 1 CRORE .
Hostels are still good.
